The grounds of Magnolia Plantation provided ample backdrops for stunning bridal portraits, with abundant gardens in the full bloom of a South Carolina spring.
The burgundy, lavender, and ivory flowers Charleston Flower Girl added to the bride’s bouquet created a stunning peacock color scheme, thanks to roses, hellebore, and lilac blossoms.
Her elegant bridal updo by Pampered & Pretty paired a braided crown with a relaxed chignon, to create the the perfect hairstyle for a Southern spring wedding.

The estate showcases the horticultural history of Magnolia Plantation, with the Drayton family taking an extreme interest in developing their gardens. They introduced azaleas to America, and were among the first to utilize Camellia Japonica outdoors. The beautiful grounds stand as a testament to their love of gardening, with of course the abundant and lovely Southern Magnolia that give the estate its name.
A surprise appearance by one of the venue’s peacocks gives a peek into the inspiration for the color scheme!
Long tables set in the shade of oak trees featured an abundance of colorful flowers in a long runner. Local plants added to the stunning centerpiece, creating a magnificent focal point against the pearl silk tablecloths and modern gold place settings.
