Location: Jersey City and Hoboken Engagement Session
For this session, Courtney and Erik invited us to the city that they have called home for the last few years. Jersey City and The New York Skyline were the perfect backdrops for this day. We are excited to share their romantic engagement session and all the fun details!
Scroll on down to take a peek at all the fun we had in the sister cities of New York City.
How did you meet?
I was living in NYC for about 2 and a half years, and Erik was living in Secaucus. We both heard great things about dating apps from both of our friends - so we both downloaded Bumble!
Erik had red pants in his profile picture sipping on whiskey, and I remember thinking how sophisticated but BOLD move with those red pants! I swiped right and we ended up being a match; I remember kicking off the conversation joking about his red pants :)
Tell us about your first date!
"We went to Aria Wine Bar in the West Village - a cute little wine bar with tapas.”
“At the end of the night, Erik got me a cab to take me back to my apartment in Midtown East, he hopped in the car with me to make sure I made it home safely, hugged me and kiss on the cheek, and continued on his cab journey to Secaucus. It was so cute and romantic that he made sure I made it home okay; date number two followed a week later at another restaurant in Hell's Kitchen” - Courtney
Bad Philadelphian on my part for NEVER seeing a Rocky movie before meeting Erik so it was his mission for me to watch ALL of them!
“We made things official in May of 2016” - Bride To Be!
Their energy as a couple is so bright and airy! The pastel blue of Courtney’s dress compliments Erik’s classic attire. To no surprise, Courtney works in the fashion industry.
Give us all the details about the proposal!
Battello is a restaurant right around the corner of our apartment, we heard such good things about it yet due to an unstable pier when we first moved, it didn't reopen until January of 2019. We always talked about going and on Saturday, March 9th, Erik made reservations and made it seem very casual saying how we always wanted to go!
What made you choose your engagement session location?
Liberty State Park is where we chose to have our engagement session - we wanted the NYC skyline in our photos and knew Liberty State Park had the views and many cool monuments and pieces to incorporate in our photo shoot!
What do you love to do together?
We love playing with our French Bulldog, Finn, we would love to say we walk with him but he doesn't really!
We love staying in and cooking dinner with wine and movie nights.
During the summer we enjoying visiting Cape May. It is one of our favorite shore towns where we can relax on the beach and visit local wineries and breweries.
And of course Jersey City with the various rooftops and good eats!
