Being a wedding photographer in NYC doesn’t get any sweeter than this! I’m still daydreaming about this beautiful day in downtown New York and the Plaza Hotel, and I can’t think of a more ideal setting for this gorgeous editorial shoot. Stylish, fashion-forward, and with the perfect touch of modern, this entire day felt fresh and new while still giving a nod to classic New York.

The Details

No wedding day would be complete without a good pair of shoes. The creative team made a classic choice for this bride with not one but two pair of Jimmy Choos. The white pair added just the right touch of romance. They complimented her veil and white crepe gown stunningly. She carried a bouquet made solely of Lily of the Valley, treasured for its delicate and fragrant blooms. 

We photographed the ceremony exit downtown as the couple stepped out into biodegradable confetti. The day was full of joy, and confetti was the perfect touch to celebrate the elopement. It earned bonus points for being earth-friendly. 

Susie Saltzman rings are always a winner in my books, and it was such a treat styling. If you’re currently adding to your list of favorites, Susie is the most wonderful, and her designs are incredible. 

Bring on the Champagne

Of course, as an NYC wedding photographer, my favorite part of the day by far was the playful portraits on the balcony. This sweet couple did their reception photos at the iconic Plaza Hotel, which overlooks Central Park. Complete with lots of giggles. I also loved the bride’s wardrobe change into a gorgeous suit gown designed by Girl and a Serious Dream. 

The emotion was genuine, and we ended the day the way any good celebration should be – a bottle of Dom and delicious and beautiful cake by Ballerina Baker. 

I’ll forever be in awe of Darcy Benincosa, Type A Society, and the team they brought together for this special day. Every detail was impeccable.
