One of my favorite ways to stretch myself creatively is through editorial shoots. This Old World Romance styled shoot was a branding session with Hazel Dust Studio in 2020. I’m thrilled to share a little behind the scenes of why we planned it.
Why Editorial Styled Shoots?
One of the best things about the wedding industry is the collaborative nature of the artists. There are so many talented creatives, and getting to know them through working together is something I treasure.
These styled shoots are a beautiful way to develop new relationships and find creatives I enjoy working with who I can share with you to bring your wedding dreams to life.
My second favorite reason for planning creative editorial styled shoots is to try out fun new ideas and concepts. Shooting weddings and engagements worldwide is the most special, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. But, taking a concept and bringing it to life through film imagery will always be one of my favorite ways to stretch myself creatively. Plus, it’s fun sharing work that could inspire you to try out your own ideas at your wedding!
Old World Romance
For this editorial, we wanted timeless florals and gilded details. We chose a very minimal color pallet to let the textures and mood of the day be the focus. The florals were stunning, and the variety was the star, with all white blooms and greenery. The gowns were both gorgeous, full of texture and whimsical details. I loved the flat-lay details. A fun takeaway – your flat-lays are the perfect way to incorporate sentimental and nostalgic items into your wedding day.
This creative team was a dream to work with, and I hope these images inspire you to dream up your ideas for your big day!
