This editorial session at the Palais Royal and Eiffel Tower is one that any Paris wedding photographer’s eyes would light up over. This session is one of my recent favorites in one of my favorite places in the world.

Gathering wedding inspiration for you is a dream come true. It’s even sweeter when my love of weddings and travel comes together. This session, in particular, was so stunning, and I loved the moody autumn light after a rainstorm in the heart of Paris. The bouquet created a lush pop of color against the muted backdrops, and I love how every detail of the day came together for us.

Destination Weddings and Elopements with Paris Wedding Photographer

Destination weddings and elopements are any photographer’s dream. What is better than spending time with your dream clients, exploring hidden corners of exciting places, and documenting one of their most treasured days together?

While a destination wedding or elopement can be easy to daydream about, it may not be that far out of reach. There may be a handful of extra checkboxes to mark, but if your heart is set on an adventure and seeking beauty, it might be the perfect fit.

Here are a handful of my favorite things to consider when planning your destination wedding or elopement.

Be Sure to Book Your Photographer Early

Jumping on a flight to photograph a wedding in another country is almost always a yes. The key is ensuring we can plan far enough in advance to bring everything together. As wedding photographers, our calendars can start to get busy during certain times of the year. Planning far enough in advance ensures your dream photographer and destination line up perfectly.

Think About Your Why

A key step is to have a good sense of why you want your wedding abroad. Is the location a special part of your love story? Have you always dreamed of an adventurous wedding? Are you looking to keep things super intimate and only invite a handful of loved ones? Being sure to answer a few key questions can help tremendously when making plans and putting together your day.

Consider Bringing on a Planner

Hiring a planner will be my recommendation for almost any wedding, abroad or stateside. A planner can be an indispensable resource if you choose the right one. They know weddings better than nearly anyone, and they can be a crucial source of finding the perfect vendors. They’re also ideal for keeping the stress levels of your day to a minimum. A good planner keeps everything running behind the scenes and allows the two of you to spend more time enjoying the process. If you’re planning a wedding abroad, it can be even more important.
