One of my absolute favorite parts of being a destination wedding photographer is exploring new places while documenting some of the most beautiful love stories all over the world. This trip to the Cotswolds was one of my favorites to date.
The Cotswolds
After a busy and exciting weekend photographing a gorgeous Temple Guiting Manor wedding, we took some time to rest and relax. We opted to take in the scenery in the surrounding towns in the Cotswolds. It was such a treat, and I’m so glad we built in the extra time to enjoy ourselves while there!
English Charm
This area was quintessentially English! Cottages and buildings were covered in flourishing roses and vines, and I loved the pops of color against the aging stone. English architecture and gardens will always have my heart. The buildings felt almost lost in time as if we were stepping into another world each day.
I adore all things English, especially film. I honestly can’t get enough of The Crown, Pride and Prejudice, Peaky Blinders, Downton Abbey – all of the above. Something about getting lost in a good period piece just makes my heart so happy. So, of course, the only thing better is the real thing!
We stayed in a nearby village called Stow-On-The-Wold and rented a car to explore. We had a wonderful time driving through the rolling hills and visiting nearby towns. All of the pubs there were so charming and cozy, the perfect spot for a foggy afternoon tea. We saw some of the sweetest shops and had some of the loveliest meals at local restaurants.
The Cotswolds was perfect for a relaxing weekend after an energy-filled wedding! I’m already working on my “must haves” list for our next visit. A classic car and a stay in an estate are first on the list. I can’t wait to take you all along on the next adventure!
